In this hands-on course you will explore light and sound to create video
and animated movies with sound as well as photograpghy and graphic arts and
print publications. The student will complete a range of communications
technology multimedia and printed projects which may include creating
printed media, short videos, computer-generated animations, and graphical
information displays. You will learn to transfer information using
electronic, live, and graphic communications equipment and software. The
knowledge and skills developed will provide a basis for careers in areas
such as publishing, advertising, print production, animation, graphic
arts, videograpghy, photography, and journalism as well as provide vital
skill sets for managerial presentations and general business.
- Explore techniques used to produce print media.
- Learn how to produce animations and audio-video productions by making your own short film.
- Use film and digital cameras to take excellent pictures.
- Demonstrate understanding of electronic communication equipment.
- Prepare camera-ready artwork for print and post-production.
- Produce audio-video and/or animated productions.
- Use computer graphics software including Adobe In-Design, Quark, Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator.
- Observe safety rules and regulations.
As a final project students will either make their own short film, animation, produce a photo exhibit, or audio production.
